Kogi State University, Kabba to Matriculate 1,060 New Students

Kogi State University, Kabba (KSUK) is set to matriculate 1,060 new students for the 2024/2025 academic session tomorrow, Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kehinde Eniola, during a pre-matriculating press briefing, where he highlighted the university's achievements over the past year .

 

The matriculation ceremony will provide an opportunity for the university to celebrate students who have excelled in their various departments. Prof. Eniola emphasized that KSUK aims to train students to become leaders who will contribute to the development of Kogi State and Nigeria.

The university has made significant strides in academics, infrastructure development, and student welfare. Notably, 101 students have benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which will help alleviate the financial burden of paying school fees.

However, Prof. Eniola expressed concerns about the proposed scraping of Tetfund by the federal government, warning that it would have catastrophic effects on tertiary institutions in the country. He advised the government to regulate or stop foreign training of lecturers and invest in developing public tertiary institutions instead.

 

The Vice Chancellor also called on individuals and corporate organizations to support the government in developing the university. With its commitment to academic excellence and student success, KSUK is poised to make a significant impact in the education sector .
