In a heartfelt address during the inauguration of the new Students Union executives, Vice Chancellor Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh emphasized the importance of integrity, fairness, and transparency in leadership. The inauguration saw Ahmed Ayomide Afolabi elected as the 9th Senate President of the 8th Assembly, with Sherif Olamide Oyelola serving as Deputy Senate President. Other key appointments include Oluwabusayomi Deborah Olajubu as Senate Clerk and Sanni Uzair as Senate Chief Whip. The ceremony featured the official handover to the new team and the inauguration of the new parliamentarians.

A notable moment of the event was the presentation of a congratulatory plaque to Professor Jimoh by Shuaib Ishaq Yahaya, the Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, recognizing his support and commitment to student welfare.

Justice Abdulraheem Ahmed Sayi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Ilorin, along with other principal officers of the university, were in attendance, underscoring the significance of the occasion and the university’s continued commitment to fostering leadership and integrity among its students.
