Lagos State University Directorate of Advancement Hosts 5th Educational Outreach Programme
The Lagos State University Directorate of Advancement (LASUDA) recently held its 5th educational outreach programme at Eva-Adelaja Girls' Senior Secondary School, Bariga, Lagos.
The initiative, themed "Catch Them Early," aimed to guide and inspire secondary school students, helping them make informed life decisions and develop academically.
The programme was designed to equip the younger generation with the right tools, values, and knowledge to navigate life's challenges. Director, LASUDA, Professor Rafiu O. Okuneye, emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating that it was their way of giving young minds a head start.
The outreach featured a series of engaging and enlightening sessions delivered by experienced resource persons. Topics discussed included:
- "Distractions in the Life of Students" by Dr. O.O Ometan, which encouraged students to focus on their goals.
- "Moving Beyond The Secondary School Level" by Dr. Joseph Ayeni, which provided students with a clearer vision of their academic and personal futures.
- "Path To Success Of Students - The Eagle Story" by Professor Simeon Dosunmu, which inspired students to take charge of their future.
Students actively participated in the sessions, asking insightful questions that were addressed comprehensively by the facilitators. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from a student representative and a closing prayer.
The event was attended by several schools, including Jagunmolu Girls' Senior Secondary School, C.M.S. Girls' Senior Grammar School, Ajayi Crowther Memorial Senior Grammar School, and Lanre Awoloku Senior Secondary School. The Principal of Eva-Adelaja Girls' Senior Secondary School expressed gratitude for the initiative, hoping that it would spark something meaningful in the students.
