LASU has partnered with Lotus Bank Limited to introduce a digital ID and payment card system for staff and students.
Lagos State University (LASU), renowned for its digitalization initiatives, has forged a strategic partnership with Lotus Bank Limited, a leading non-interest financial institution in Nigeria, to introduce a multi-purpose card and lifestyle application project. This initiative aims to serve as both an identification and payment card for the university's staff and students.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony, held on Tuesday, March 27, 2024, at the Vice Chancellor's Office on the main campus of LASU, was presided over by the heads of both institutions - Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, LASU VC, and Mrs. Kafilat Araoye, MD of Lotus Bank Limited.
This landmark collaboration entails Lotus Bank Limited developing a digital lifestyle application specifically tailored for LASU's staff and students. The application will seamlessly integrate digital identity management systems, financial transactions, e-commerce, and lifestyle management features into a single, user-friendly platform.
In a statement, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, the Vice Chancellor of LASU, expressed the significance of this partnership in enhancing campus efficiency and convenience. He emphasized LASU's commitment to leveraging technological advancements to streamline administrative processes for the benefit of its academic community.

Mrs. Kafilat Araoye, MD of Lotus Bank Limited, reassured LASU of the professional delivery of services outlined in the MoU. She highlighted the bank's proficiency in the digital space and expressed confidence that this collaboration would set a new standard for digital solutions in Nigerian universities.
The MoU signing ceremony was attended by key members of LASU's management, including the Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel A. FANU; Bursar, Mr. Said Babatunde Olayinka; University Librarian, Dr. Omawumi Makinde; Director of DICT, Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin; Deputy Registrar (Legal Unit), Mrs. O. O. Boyejo; Deputy Registrar (VCO), Dr. Lateef Sekoni; and Special Assistant to the VC, Dr. Lateef Salami, among others.
