LASU Shows Support for Asein Angel's Guinness World Record Attempt in Read-A-Thon

Asein Patience Angel Osariemen, a 500 Level student of the Department of Fisheries at Lagos State University (LASU)., is gearing up for an extraordinary feat as she prepares to undertake a 200-hour continuous reading aloud exercise, known as the "Read-A-Thon," in her official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest reading aloud hour.

Scheduled to take place from Friday, February 23rd to Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, the event will unfold at the Edo State Library Complex Secretariat Building, situated on Sapele Road in Benin City.

During this ambitious endeavor, Osariemen will immerse herself in a diverse selection of literature, focusing particularly on books centered around Nigeria, with special emphasis on states such as Edo and Lagos. Additionally, as a dedicated member of the LASU SDG Club, she plans to delve into materials related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 13 and 14, addressing critical issues of climate change and life underwater. Through her readings, she aims to raise awareness and educate the global community about the importance of these UN-mandated goals.
