LASU Withdraws Controversial CBT Charges After Student Protests
Lagos State University (LASU) has withdrawn recently introduced charges for Computer-Based Testing (CBT), Counselling, and Forensic services following protests by students.
The Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, has swiftly responded to student outcry by rescinding recently introduced charges for Computer-Based Testing (CBT), Counselling, and Forensic services. The decision, which imposed a 10,000 naira fee on students, sparked protests across the campus.

In a statement issued following a meeting with student representatives on Monday, July 8, 2024, Prof. Olatunji-Bello directed the immediate withdrawal of the charges, acknowledging the concerns raised by the student body.
"The voices of our students have been heard loud and clear," stated Prof. Olatunji-Bello. "After careful consideration and dialogue with our students, we have decided to retract the decision to implement these charges."
