The Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia Archdiocese, Most Rev Chibuzor Opoko, officially unveiled Lux Mundi University (LMU) in Afaraukwu, Umuahia. The inauguration marked a historic moment as LMU became the first private university in the Umuahia.

In a significant milestone for education in Abia State, the Methodist Archbishop of Umuahia Archdiocese, Most Rev Chibuzor Opoko, officially unveiled Lux Mundi University (LMU) in Afaraukwu, Umuahia. The inauguration marked a historic moment as LMU became the first private university in Umuahia.

Addressing the youth present at the ceremony, Archbishop Opoko emphasized the importance of hard work, honesty, and commitment in achieving success. He urged the younger generation to steer away from fraudulent means and instead embrace values that lead to personal and societal growth.

The Archbishop commended the founder of LMU, Prof Gabriel Okenwa, hailing him as a symbol of honesty, hard work, and dedication to duty. Prof Okenwa, a native of Ibeku, Umuahia, was recognized for his visionary role in establishing the university in Ndagbo Afaraukwu, Umuahia.

The Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Umuahia, Rev Father Henry Maduka, expressed his appreciation for the positive impact of the university on the community. He viewed LMU as a beacon of progress and development in Umuahia.
