MAAUN School of Computing Hosts Workshop on Research Writing

The School of Computing at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) conducted a one-day workshop titled "Effective Project Preparation: Skills and Strategies for Undergraduate Success" to enhance students' understanding of research writing. The event aimed to equip participants with essential skills for academic excellence and future professional endeavors.
Held on October 25, the workshop featured seven distinguished academics with over a decade of experience. They guided students through critical topics such as selecting research topics, structuring projects, conducting literature reviews, and maintaining academic integrity.
Among the prominent speakers were Prof. Abdullahi Sabo, Vice Chancellor of Franco-British International University; Prof. Abubakar Sadiq, Director of the Institute of African Higher Education Research and Innovation; and Prof. Ibrahim Lawan, Dean of the School of Computing. Other contributors included Prof. Sola Dada, Dr. Muazu Jibrin, Dr. Olukunle Elijah, and Engineer Yahaya Otuoze.
Students participated actively, engaging in discussions and posing questions to deepen their comprehension of the workshop materials. Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Israr, President of MAAUN, emphasized the importance of mastering project writing, noting it allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges. He commended the organizers for their efforts in making the workshop a success.
