In celebration of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations' (NIPR) 60th anniversary, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta has collaborated with the institute to launch a "Green Park" campaign, aiming to plant 60 economic trees and promote sustainable environmental practices.

The initiative aligns with the NIPR's goal to tackle climate change and support the federal government's environmental conservation efforts. The tree planting ceremony, held on June 1, 2024, at MAPOLY, was attended by notable figures, including the Rector of MAPOLY, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, and the Ogun State Head of Service, Dr. Adetokunbo Fassy Yusuf.

The partnership between MAPOLY and NIPR demonstrates their shared commitment to addressing environmental issues and fostering a culture of sustainability. The "Green Park" project serves as a symbol of the institute's diamond jubilee and represents a step towards a greener, more environmentally conscious future.

According to the Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, "The issue of environment, which has to do with horticulture, must be taken seriously, considering the climatic changes in the world." He assured that the Polytechnic is ready to join hands with the Institute to regulate climatic change and environmental stability.

The Ogun State Chapter's Vice-Chairman and Chairman of the anniversary, Mr. Waheed Ogunjobi, expressed the Institute's appreciation for MAPOLY's support, stating that the Chapter decided to partner with the Institution considering its role in training Public Relations professionals in the country with a focus on indelible benefits for many generations to come.

The ceremony was followed by an awareness rally on climate change, preservation, and sustainability, which began from the NIPR secretariat, Oke-Ilewo, down to Panseke, and finally to the MAPOLY Green Garden site.
