Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), recently hosted a dynamic Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Symposium, highlighting the imperative for researchers to commercialize their innovations. The event, held at the Senator Anyim Pius Anyim Auditorium, provided a platform for stakeholders to explore strategies for transforming intellectual assets into economic opportunities.
At the symposium themed "After Research, What Next," speakers, including Dr. (Mrs.) Idoreyin Theresa Imiyoho, Acting Director General of the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP), emphasized the importance of commercializing Intellectual Property. They underscored the potential for financial gain through market-driven product development and strategic marketing.

Prof. Maduebibisi Ofo Iwe, Vice-Chancellor of MOUAU, reaffirmed the institution's dedication to research-driven transformation. Additionally, a trophy was awarded to NOTAP in appreciation of its collaboration towards the success of the Maiden Research and Innovation Fair/Conference hosted by the University.
