NAPS South West Zone Visits Ekiti State Commissioner of Police to Enhance Student Security
The leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) South West Zone, led by Comrade Obasanya Monday Johnson, met with the Commissioner of Police in Ekiti State on July 10, 2024, to discuss the security of students at various polytechnics in the state.
The leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) South West Zone, led by Comrade Obasanya Monday Johnson (MLEX), visited the Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, to discuss and enhance the safety and security of Nigerian students in the state.
The meeting addressed pressing security concerns for students at The Federal Polytechnic, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan, and the College of Health Science and Technology, Ijero. NAPS South West Zone sought to establish a collaborative partnership with the police to strengthen campus security and prevent criminal activities. Both parties aimed to foster a positive relationship between students and law enforcement agencies to ensure a secure and conducive environment for academic pursuits.
Comrade Obasanya Monday Johnson (MLEX), the Zonal Coordinator of NAPS South West, emphasized the association's commitment to creating a safe environment for students to achieve their academic goals. He highlighted the importance of joint efforts between students, educational institutions, and law enforcement agencies to enhance campus security.

The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the police's dedication to maintaining law and order in the state. He pledged full support in ensuring the safety of students on campuses and expressed readiness to collaborate with NAPS South West Zone to enhance security measures.
The meeting concluded with a resolution to work together to ensure the safety and security of students in Ekiti State. NAPS South West Zone and the Ekiti State Police Command agreed to maintain open communication channels and continue their collaborative efforts to protect students and foster a secure academic environment.
