NIHTE Awards Scholarships to FUNAAB Civil Engineering Students
The Nigerian Institution of Highway and Transportation Engineers (NIHTE) has granted scholarships worth N150,000 each to two Civil Engineering students at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

The recipients of the prestigious scholarships are Adio Joseph, a 200 level student, and Adekogbe Oluwaferanmi, a 300 level student, both from the Civil Engineering department.
During the presentation ceremony held at the College of Engineering, FUNAAB, Abeokuta, Engr Saidu Hassan, the national chairman of NIHTE, emphasized the organization's dedication to supporting academic excellence and fostering the development of transportation professionals.
Engr Hassan, represented by Engr Bola Mudashiru, the national general secretary of NIHTE, highlighted the significance of investing in education for the transformation of the nation's highway sector and the advancement of a safe, sustainable, and efficient transportation system.
He congratulated the scholarship recipients and encouraged them to maintain their pursuit of academic excellence while assuring them of NIHTE's continuous support until their graduation.
The collaboration between NIHTE and the Department of Civil Engineering was praised by Prof Olawale Dairo, the dean of the College of Engineering, who commended NIHTE's commitment to promoting excellence in the engineering profession through the scholarship award.

Prof Dairo, represented by Prof O Adetunji, the deputy dean, urged the scholarship recipients to embrace their responsibility as engineers and encouraged them to innovate, collaborate, and push boundaries for national development.
Dr Simeon Odunfa, the head of the Civil Engineering Department, expressed gratitude to NIHTE for its support in helping students achieve their academic goals. He urged other organizations to emulate NIHTE's example and partner with the university to build a brighter future for the country.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities including Prof Waheed Adekojo, Prof Salami Ismaila, Prof Ezra Adeleke, Prof J O Akinyele, and Dr O J Adeosun, among others.
