The Senate of Nasarawa State University, Keffi has approved a broad expansion of academic offerings across multiple disciplines, strengthening the institution’s strategic push toward global relevance and specialised manpower development.

The approvals were granted during the 136th, 137th, and 138th Regular Senate meetings and cover new undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes in health sciences, engineering, climate studies, education, Islamic finance, and media studies.

In the health and medical sciences cluster, the university approved the introduction of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.N.Sc.) and Bachelor of Radiography (B.Rad.), both designed to reinforce capacity within the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and meet growing demand for skilled healthcare professionals.

A major highlight of the expansion is the introduction of advanced climate-focused postgraduate programmes under the Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change (AM3C). These include Climate Change and Precision Agriculture Innovation, Agroecology and Ecosystem Services, Climate Finance and Policy, and Climate Change, Gender and Global Health—programmes positioned to align the university with global sustainability priorities.
