The National Universities Commission (NUC) recently conducted an inspection visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), in preparation for the resumption of Adedapo Tejuoso Medical University, Abeokuta (ATMUA).

The National Universities Commission (NUC) conducted an inspection visit to the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), on June 24, 2024, in preparation for the resumption of Adedapo Tejuoso Medical University, Abeokuta (ATMUA). Led by Dr. Samuel Adeejo, the NUC team reviewed various facilities and amenities at FUNAAB to assess their suitability for use by ATMUA students.

Mr. Oladejo Azeez, Registrar-Designate of ATMUA, highlighted the visit's objective, emphasizing the establishment of a collaborative framework between FUNAAB and ATMUA. This framework aims to leverage FUNAAB's resources including libraries, hostels, lecture theatres, laboratories, conference halls, health services, and security services for the benefit of ATMUA students.

In response, Prof. Babatunde Kehinde, Vice-Chancellor of FUNAAB, reaffirmed the institution's commitment to academic excellence and community service, particularly in science and agriculture. He stressed the mutual goal of both institutions to enhance tertiary education through cooperation and shared resources.

The visit included an inspection of FUNAAB's facilities by the NUC team alongside representatives from ATMUA and FUNAAB, including Senator Lanre Tejuoso, Prof. Olukayode Akinyemi, Prof. Adeboye Fafiolu, and Lady Chika Nwezi. Discussions during the visit focused on the forthcoming Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between FUNAAB and ATMUA, signaling a broader commitment to institutional development and academic collaboration.
