NUC Visits McPherson University for Accreditation of History and International Studies Programme
The National Universities Commission (NUC) accreditation team has visited McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, for the accreditation of the History and International Studies programme. The visit formed part of the Commission’s regular quality assurance exercise to ensure Nigerian universities maintain national academic standards and programme benchmarks.

The accreditation panel, led by Professor Chuka Stephen Enuka of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), included Professor Lemuel Odeh from the University of Ilorin and Mrs. Adamolekun Lola, who represented the NUC. The team was warmly received by the University Management, along with members of the Department of History and International Studies.
In his welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, appreciated the NUC for its continued efforts in upholding excellence within Nigeria’s higher education system. He reaffirmed McPherson University’s commitment to quality teaching, innovative research, and impactful community engagement.
Professor Igbasan further assured the team of the University’s openness to feedback that would contribute to institutional and academic development. “We are open to recommendations and suggestions that will help us strengthen our programmes and sustain quality education delivery,” he stated.

Speaking on behalf of the accreditation panel, Professor Enuka explained that the visit was aimed at evaluating the department’s academic resources, physical facilities, and instructional standards. He commended the University Management and staff for their cooperation, hospitality, and commitment to maintaining high academic standards throughout the exercise.
