NUESA BUK Chapter Electoral Committee Declares Usman Shuaibu President-Elect

The Students' Association (NUESA) Electoral Committee, Bayero University, Kano, has declared Usman Shuaibu the winner of the presidential election for the 2023/2024 academic session.

In a certificate of return issued by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Amina Muhammad, Usman Shuaibu was confirmed to have satisfied the conditions of the election and emerged victorious.

The certificate reads: "This is to certify that Usman Shuaibu, having satisfied the conditions of the NUESA ELCOM 2024, has contested and won the seat of President for the 2023/2024 academic session of the NUESA-BUK chapter, and is hereby returned elected."

The election was held on Thursday, June 13, 2024, and Usman Shuaibu emerged victorious, marking a new era in student leadership at Bayero University, Kano.

The President elect lamented by saying;

بِسْمِ ٱللَّٰهِ ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ.

I stood before you today humbled and honoured to assume the sacred mandate you have given me. My love for the faculty is abiding. My confidence in its people, unwavering. And my faith in Allah, the Almighty, is absolute. I know that His hand shall provide the needed moral strength and clarity of purpose in those instances when we seem to have reached the limits of our human capacity.

I want to thank all Engineering stakeholders for their dedication, hardwork and support. This leadership is not just mine, but ours, and I am proud to be part of such a passionate and driven community.

As your President, I promise to listen to your concerns, amplify your voices, and fight for the changes we need - from improving students life and academic support to promoting diversity and inclusivity, my door is always open and my ears are always listening.

Let us work together to build a NUESA that is truly representative, innovative, inclusive, and empowering. Thank you again for this incredible opportunity. I am excited to get started and make a positive impact on our great faculty and the university.
