Mr. Emmanuel Olateju, a graduate from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has been selected for the competitive Computational and Cognition Tübingen Summer (CaCTüS) Internship program in Germany.

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) student, Mr. Emmanuel Olateju, from the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering's graduating class of 2021/22, has been chosen for the esteemed Computational and Cognition Tübingen Summer (CaCTüS) Internship program.

Organized by the Max Planck Institutes for Biological Cybernetics and Intelligent Systems in collaboration with the Tübingen AI Center in Germany, the CaCTüS Internship program typically admits only a handful of B.Sc. or M.Sc. students globally each year.

Mr. Olateju's selection was attributed to his outstanding academic performance, the quality of his proposal, and his impactful research contributions at OAU's Applied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Research Laboratory. Notably, Mr. Olateju served as the lead Research Assistant (RA) on significant projects, including a rehabilitation robotics initiative with the neurology unit of Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital and a deep learning-based schizophrenia classification project in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health.

Scheduled to commence from July 1 to September 30, 2024, Mr. Olateju's internship in Tübingen will entail his involvement in a research endeavor focused on modeling brain-wide communication at cellular resolution.
