The Anglican Girls Grammar School, Ijebu-Ode Old Students Association, has embarked on a significant renovation project to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the institution. As part of this initiative, 16 structures on the school grounds have been renovated, and new classrooms and offices have been constructed. Additionally, measures to counteract erosion on the school premises have been implemented.

The Anglican Girls Grammar School Ijebu-Ode, established on January 25, 1954, exclusively for girls, witnessed this commendable effort by its old students' association. Princess Tejumade Alakija served as its first principal.

In a statement released on Monday, it was revealed that the week-long anniversary celebration would kick off with the planting of fruit trees on the school grounds. These trees are intended to serve as a source of income for the school.

Last year, Oba Victor Kiladejo, the Osemawe of the Ondo kingdom, urged the old students to contribute to their alma mater's infrastructural development and support indigent pupils.

The 70th-anniversary celebration planning committee, led by Yeye Folashade, disclosed that prominent figures, including Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, traditional rulers, and key figures in the education sector, are expected to attend the events.

As part of the celebration, outstanding individuals will be honored with awards. The celebration will culminate in a thanksgiving service on Sunday, January 28, followed by an annual meeting in Adebambo Hall, where new executives and representatives will be elected.
