Oloyede, Gana, and Prominent Figures Appointed to NIPR University Advisory Team

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has appointed a prominent Advisory Team for its new Public Relations and Leadership University, Nigeria (NIPR, PRLU). Key members include Prof. Is-haq Oloyede (JAMB Registrar), former Minister of Information Prof. Jerry Gana, and several university leaders such as Prof. Yakubu Ochefu and Prof. Jide Owoeye.

In a strategic move to establish a world-class institution, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced the formation of its Advisory Team for the proposed Public Relations and Leadership University, Nigeria (NIPR, PRLU). Notable appointments include Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), along with former Minister of Information Prof. Jerry Gana, and several other distinguished academics and leaders.

The Advisory Team also features Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, Executive Secretary of the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities; Prof. Jide Owoeye, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council at Lead University; and Prof. Muhammad Akaro Mainoma, Founding Vice-Chancellor of Prime University, Abuja. Additionally, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and Prof. Haruna Kuje Ayuba, Vice-Chancellor of Bingham University, Karu, have been appointed.

The NIPR has also inaugurated a 72-member Project Implementation Committee (PIC) led by Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura, NIPR Vice President. The committee's formation was announced during an event held at the National Assembly Complex.

At the inauguration, Prof. Jerry Gana emphasized the university's international aspirations, underscoring the necessity for the institution to be accessible by road, rail, and air. He commended the NIPR leadership for initiating such a groundbreaking project, which he believes has the potential to become one of the premier institutions globally.

Prof. Gana also urged the PIC to promote technological innovation and ensure that both staff and students are equipped with essential skills for the evolving global landscape.

NIPR President Ike Neliaku highlighted the importance of effective communication for successful leadership, stressing that public relations skills are crucial for managerial success. He pointed out that leaders must master clear communication to convey their vision effectively, as failure often stems from poor communication rather than flawed policies.

The establishment of the NIPR Public Relations and Leadership University marks a significant step towards advancing higher education and public relations standards in Nigeria.
