Osun State Governor Adeleke Commits to Enhancing UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital's Healthcare Services

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has pledged to prioritize the improvement of healthcare services at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. During a visit by the hospital's board and management team led by Hon. Niyi Owolade, the Governor assured of efforts to enhance both medical care provision and personnel training.

Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to enhancing healthcare delivery services at the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital in Osogbo. During a visit from the hospital's board and management team, led by Chairman Hon. Niyi Owolade, the Governor pledged to improve facilities and ensure effective training for medical personnel.

Governor Adeleke emphasized the importance of providing quality healthcare services to the people while ensuring adequate training for healthcare professionals. He assured the delegation of his administration's dedication to enhancing the hospital's services and infrastructure.

In his remarks, Board Chairman Hon. Owolade commended the Governor for his progressive initiatives since assuming office. He praised the Governor's unwavering commitment to healthcare delivery and thanked him for supporting the teaching hospital whenever called upon.

Hon. Owolade highlighted the pressing need for improved medical equipment and facilities at the hospital to facilitate care, training, and research activities. He also called for enhancements in staffing, particularly in outreach centers, and appealed for capital funding to support accreditation processes for undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Additionally, Hon. Owolade urged the Governor to regulate and upgrade the status of hospital staff hired in 2012/2013, as well as casual workers. The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including the Chief Medical Director, Prof. Peter Babatunde Olaitan, and other board members.

Also present were representatives from the Ministry of Health, the College of Health Sciences, and the Nigerian Medical Association. The collaborative efforts aim to ensure the UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital continues to provide quality healthcare services and contribute to medical education and research in the region.
