PLASU Launches Campus Beautification Project Led by Acting VC Prof. Shedrack Best

Plateau State University (PLASU) Bokkos has launched an ambitious campus beautification project. The initiative, introduced by Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Shedrack Best on October 25, aims to enhance the university's appeal and attract new partnerships.

The beautification project includes the installation of a new signage at the university’s entrance, renovations to the gatehouse, and a revamped symbol of justice statue near the law faculty. Prof. Best highlighted the significance of maintaining an appealing campus, stating, "The university is a hub of knowledge and intellectuals, and its physical appearance should reflect that."

Upon assuming office in February, Prof. Best identified the need for a rapid beautification plan to remove obstructions and reinforce the university’s corporate identity. His initiatives have also included mass afforestation, extensive weed removal, and renovations to the university gate and fencing. The upgraded entrance signage, visible at a distance, further strengthens the university’s presence in the community.

During the project’s official unveiling on October 25, Prof. Best also revealed plans for a comprehensive remodel of the university’s gate to match the standards of modern universities. The newly restored statue of Justicia, now one of the largest in Nigeria, stands proudly near the law faculty, symbolizing the university’s dedication to justice and integrity.

Prof. Best expressed appreciation to the university management for their support and commended the efforts of the university’s staff in realizing the project’s vision.
