Seven Kwarapoly Students Injured in Ilorin Fire Incident

Seven students from Kwara State Polytechnic (Kwarapoly), Ilorin, sustained injuries in a fire incident near a student hostel at Destiny Villa, Dola Abinbola Street, Elekoyangan area in Ilorin East local government area. The incident occurred late Saturday night, involving a gas refilling shop and a gas attendant.

The firemen, responding promptly, encountered a fully ablaze building with about 17 self-contained rooms at the scene. Four rooms were affected, and eight individuals sustained injuries. The estimated property loss was valued at N14.6 million, while property saved was estimated at N72.2 million.

In response to the incident, Prince Falade John, Director of Kwara State Fire Service, dispatched a team to check on the affected students on Sunday. He also urged the public to prioritize safety measures to prevent fire disasters.
