Taraba State University Cracks Down on Extortion of Students by Staff

Taraba State University's Management has taken a firm stance against staff members extorting students under the pretense of project supervision fees and project topic approval fees.

In an internal memorandum dated September 1, 2023, addressed to all staff and students, the University Management expressed its deep concern over the growing instances of extortion involving students and staff members. The memorandum emphasized the unacceptability of such behavior and declared the immediate cessation of these practices as per the directive of the Vice Chancellor.

To enforce this directive, a special committee has been established to thoroughly investigate reported incidents of extortion. The University Management is committed to holding accountable any staff members found guilty of engaging in these activities, imposing appropriate disciplinary actions.

This proactive approach by Taraba State University's Management demonstrates its commitment to fostering a fair and transparent educational environment for all its students.
