Comrade Okon Victor, the Immediate Past SUG PRO, established THE ABIA STATE UNIVERSITY PRESS CLUB to enhance the media environment at Abia State University, fulfilling his pledge to revitalize the university's media sector and create a unified platform for students proficient in media disciplines.

The Press Club aims to nurture talents in content creation, social media management, journalism, and news presentation. Its objectives include fostering responsible reporting, promoting ethical journalism practices, and encouraging critical thinking among members. The club also offers training, workshops, and collaborations with media organizations to enhance students' career prospects.

Mission: To cultivate a community of media-savvy students committed to responsible reporting and showcasing university achievements.

Vision: To emerge as a leading media organization within the university, promoting excellence and shaping positive narratives.

Motto: "The Pen is Mightier than the Sword."

Under the leadership of Comrade Adolphus Asito as the Pioneer Executive President (2022/2023 Academic Session), the club has embarked on various activities including news publications, media workshops, guest lectures, and field trips. Comr. Blessing Nnubia ("Blessed Pen") was elected as the First Elected President for the 2023/2024 Academic Session.

The club is supported by esteemed advisers including Professor Uzoma Nwokocha as Grand Patron, and a team of dedicated patrons and a staff adviser from the Department of Mass Communication, Mrs. Ebeneezer Adaeze.
