Tobechi Elendu of Rivers State University Crowned Rivers Queen of Peace 2024 in Emotional Finale at Azny Event Center

The grand finale of the Rivers Queen of Peace Pageantry ended in a glorious celebration as Tobechi Elendu, a student of Rivers State University, was crowned the prestigious Rivers Queen of Peace 2024. The event, held on Sunday night at Azny Event Center, was filled with emotions as the Chief Judge, Chidiebele Okoye (Dez Mayorz), announced the winners.

With tears of joy streaming down her face, Queen Tobechi Elendu expressed her commitment to fostering peace in Rivers State. She promised to use her queenship to launch programs aimed at promoting peace, developing capacity, and advancing the education of the girl child. She also emphasized her goal of creating an atmosphere for peaceful coexistence and making Rivers State an attractive destination for investors.

In his goodwill message, the Mayor of Housing, My-Ace China, highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Rivers State, describing it as one of the richest in the world with top-notch varieties. He called for the speedy development of the state to change the perception some people have about Rivers State. “The garden city and Rivers State at large is peaceful, colorful with beautiful cuisine. It’s a prosperous state with unique hospitality,” My-Ace China stated.

He also commended the governor of the state, Sir Siminalayi Fubara GSSRS, for declaring Rivers State open for businesses and praised the governor’s 20,000 housing projects and Eleme projects. Additionally, he thanked the Alesa, Eleme community for their hospitality since his arrival.

The pageantry event was a vibrant affair, featuring comic performances from KO-Baba, cultural dances, music bands, and many more entertaining acts. The night ended on a high note, celebrating not only the new queen but also the unity and cultural richness of Rivers State.
