UDUS Social Media Monitoring Officer Salahuddeen Bello Sparks National Conversation on Monetization of Nigerian Facebook Accounts
A thought-provoking discussion at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS) has ignited a national debate on the monetization of Nigerian Facebook accounts.

The bus of IN-DEPTH ANALYSIS OF CONTEMPORARY ISSUES had stopped over at the doorstep of Social Media Monitoring Officer, Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Mr. Salahuddeen Bello Bala who demystified the topic " Monetization of Nigerian Facebook Account: A means of Poverty Alleviation or a Societal Disorder.
Mr. Bala's responses to the topic were "YES" and "NO". Why? He argued that this monetization would serve as a means of employment for many, but at the same time significant number of Nigerians would daunt the image of the country because of the traffic generation by posting immoral content. Thus, this Monetization of Nigerians' Facebook Account is two sides of the same coin

The Guest Speaker cleared it up that monetization of social media accounts is immemorial, although, many haven't received a dime from the founders of the social handles, however, they've secured a series of mouthwatering jobs that have changed their lives for good. He asserted that he is a living witness. He claimed that even though he is a graduate of Geology, yet, all that he has become today is through social media engagement he is fond of and he backs it with a series of illustrations.
The UDUS social media handler, equally, encouraged every social media user, to be cautious of the posts they make, the name their social media accounts bear, and the kind of influencers they follow. Because our social media accounts describe who we are.
On a final note, our Guest suggested the creation of a Federal Ministry of Social Media and its regulations, which would be charged with the OBJECTIVE CENSORSHIP of posts that fly on the social media space of Nigerians' with the RIGHT STAKEHOLDERS being carried along.
