UI Conducts English Proficiency Tests for 2023/2024 Postgraduate Admissions
The University of Ibadan (UI) conducted English Proficiency Tests (EPT) for candidates seeking admission into its postgraduate programs for the 2023/2024 academic session. The Computer-Based Tests (CBT) were held on May 16 and 17, 2024, at the UI Distance Learning Centre.

The University of Ibadan (UI) has successfully conducted English Proficiency Tests (EPT) for candidates seeking admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2023/2024 academic session. The Computer-Based Tests (CBT) took place on Thursday, May 16, and Friday, May 17, 2024, at the CBT centre of the University's Distance Learning Centre.

Addressing the candidates at the venue, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, emphasized the importance of postgraduate students in driving research and administration across the African continent. He highlighted UI's position as a leading institution in postgraduate education, with a remarkable track record of producing M.Sc. and doctoral graduates. Prof. Adebowale reiterated UI's mission to transition into a Postgraduate University with a ratio of 60:40, aiming to lead in solving current and future continental challenges.
Encouraging the candidates, Prof. Adebowale urged them to remain focused on their academic journey and to overcome any obstacles they may encounter along the way.
The examination atmosphere was described as pleasant and peaceful, with the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar Mr. G. O. Saliu, Deputy Provosts of the Postgraduate College, Deputy Registrars, and other officials present to monitor proceedings.
The English Proficiency Tests mark a crucial step in the postgraduate admissions process at UI, ensuring that candidates possess the necessary language skills to excel in their chosen fields of study.
