UI Foundation Paves the Way for Success, Affirms DVC Academic
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic of the University of Ibadan, Professor Aderonke M. Baiyeroju, highlighted the institution's commitment to providing a strong foundation for success to its graduates during a visit by members of the National Executive Council of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic of the University of Ibadan (UI), Professor Aderonke M. Baiyeroju, emphasized the institution's role in providing a solid foundation for success to its graduates. She made this assertion during a courtesy visit by members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS), representing Vice-Chancellor Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS.
Professor Baiyeroju highlighted UI's commitment to equipping graduates with the necessary skills to compete globally. Despite financial challenges stemming from insufficient government funding and inability to raise levies, she assured that UI prioritizes providing quality education and infrastructure to students.
In light of these constraints, she appealed to NIQS for support in sustaining UI's Department of Quantity Surveying, urging both financial and moral assistance for holistic student development.

President of NIQS, QS Kene C. Nzekwe, FNIQS, lauded UI's strides in advancing Quantity Surveying education. He commended the department's efforts, led by Acting Head Dr. Leo Feyisetan Olagbaye, MNIQS, for seeking external support and showcasing exemplary leadership.
Nzekwe urged UI to further encourage student and staff participation in workshops, seminars, and conferences, advocating for sponsorship facilitation. Additionally, he emphasized the need for modern learning facilities and a computerized quantity survey studio to enhance graduates' competitiveness in the job market.
The collaborative efforts between UI and NIQS underscore a commitment to academic excellence and industry relevance, ensuring students receive a comprehensive education that prepares them for professional success.
