Engr. (Prof.) Odey Osha gave the warning while making his opening remarks during the Faculty's 2023/2024 session Freshmen Orientation Exercise held at the Sen. Godswill Akpabio lecture theater in the University.
He said for students to pass their examination in the Unical, they have to read and study assiduously, adding that, there is no short cut to passing examinations.
According to him, students are encouraged to report any staff who cajole them to pay money for grades to the authorities for immediate sanctions.
Prof. Osha further advised the students to shun bad companies and focus on their primary purpose of coming to the university; which is to study, even as he described most of the so called friends as distractions to their dreams and aspirations.
While welcoming them to the Faculty, he charged them to consciously follow the rules that governs the University system and obey them strictly.
This is even as he warned them to stay off engagements that are against the peace of the University maintaining that their grievances should be channeled to the appropriate quarters, assuring that such genuine grievances will be well addressed by Management.
