UNICROSS Shuts Down Academic Activities for Two Weeks Over Nationwide Protest
The University of Cross River (UNICROSS) has announced a two-week suspension of academic activities, effective Tuesday, July 30,2024. As a result of the protest, all lectures, examinations, tests, and other academic activities at UNICROSS will be suspended. Students have been advised to vacate their halls of residence immediately upon the implementation of the break.

The decision comes in anticipation of the nationwide protest scheduled to commence on August 1,2024.

In a press release signed by the university management, it was stated that the break is intended to ensure the safety of students amidst the anticipated nationwide demonstrations. The statement read, “In view of the planned nationwide protest being organized by some Civil Society Organizations and others in the country effective August 01, 2024, and in order to ensure the safety of the lives of our students, the Management of the University has decided to give a break of two (2) weeks to the students.”

The university is expected to resume normal academic activities on Monday,August 12,2024.
