UNIDEL VC Urges Obedience to God and Constituted Authorities at 49th Edition of UNIDEL Prays

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, Professor Stella Chiemeke, has called on staff of the institution to remain obedient to constituted authorities and to the injunctions of God Almighty.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, Professor Stella Chiemeke, has called on staff of the institution to remain obedient to constituted authorities and to the injunctions of God Almighty.

Speaking during the October edition of UNIDEL Prays—the 49th in the series—held at the 1000-Capacity Hall, Agbor Campus, Professor Chiemeke expressed gratitude to God for His blessings in the month of September and for the safe arrival of students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

She urged staff and students to continue to live in obedience to God’s word and institutional authority, noting that such obedience attracts divine favour and institutional progress. The Vice Chancellor emphasized that as the new academic session begins, fervent prayers are needed for divine assistance, protection, and a fruitful session.

Delivering an exhortation titled “Living in Total Obedience to God,” the guest preacher, Pastor Dr. John Ehiwarior, admonished the congregation to put away all forms of filthiness and wickedness, citing James 1:21. He urged everyone to be doers of the word and not hearers only, emphasizing that obedience, humility, and righteousness are prerequisites for divine blessings.

In his vote of thanks, the Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi, commended the Vice Chancellor for her visionary leadership and appreciated the Principal Officers for their dedication and sacrifice. He also lauded the staff for their collective commitment to the growth and development of the university.

The October edition featured spirited praise and worship, intercessory prayers led by Dr. (Mrs.) M. Asabor, an opening prayer by Dr. John Oji, and a closing prayer conducted by Rev. Fr. Dr. John Mordi.

Present at the event were the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Patricia Mbah; the Bursar, Mr. Sunny Ikeogwu; the University Librarian, Dr. (Mrs.) Vera Okonoko; Deans, Heads of Departments, Professors, Senior Deputy Registrars, and other members of staff.
