UNILAG Hosts TETFund Assessment Team to Review Biodiversity Conservation Center

The University of Lagos recently hosted a team of assessors from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to evaluate the TETFund Centre of Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Management (TCEBCEM).

A delegation from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) recently visited the University of Lagos to conduct an assessment of the TETFund Centre of Excellence in Biodiversity Conservation and Ecosystem Management (TCEBCEM). The team, consisting of Prof. Oyewale Tomori and Dr. Comfort Ochepo, was tasked with reviewing the utilization of the grant awarded to TCEBCEM in 2020.

During their visit from Tuesday, April 2 to Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the TETFund assessors visited various facilities associated with TCEBCEM, including its office located at the basement of the Akintunde-Ojo Library extension, the TCEBCEM laboratory at the D.K. Olukoya Central Research Laboratory, and the Screen House for Aquaponics Research situated at the Faculty of Science.

As part of their assessment, the team also paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS. Additionally, they engaged with members of the Centre, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academics and Research, Professor Bola Oboh. Furthermore, the assessors held interactive sessions with postgraduate students affiliated with the Centre.
