The recruitment process, which commenced recently, aimed to fill teaching positions across various educational institutions. Scheduled to take place in 13 designated centres across Osun, the examination encountered difficulties in two key locations: Osogbo and Ikire towns, where the assessment was abruptly halted.

UNIOSUN was identified as one of the centres where the evaluation was to occur between March 27 and 28, 2024. However, according to Ademola Adesoji, the UNIOSUN Public Relations Officer (PRO), the university experienced disruptions at the aforementioned centres due to suspected hacking activities.

Attributing the interruption to hackers, Adesoji disclosed that the university's servers were targeted, resulting in an unavoidable delay in the examination process. As a consequence, tests at the affected centres would need to be rescheduled to ensure fairness and integrity in the recruitment exercise.

"The management of Osun State University has disclosed that its server was hacked overnight by unknown criminals attempting to disrupt the teachers’ recruitment test," the statement issued by Adesoji reads.

"We responded technically and frustrated attempts to breach our core software and question bank. The damage inflicted on the server required time to resolve, resulting in an undue delay in the start of exams and necessitating the rescheduling of tests at two out of thirteen centres."

He further emphasized the university's commitment to ensuring the success of the recruitment process despite the challenges posed by the attempted breach. Adesoji affirmed that while examinations concluded smoothly at 11 out of the 13 locations, arrangements would be made to reschedule tests at the problematic centres in Osogbo and Ikire, based on directives from the ministry overseeing the recruitment.
