University of Ibadan Students Raise Concerns Over Delay in Release of Education Loan Funds
To apply, they must write through the Dean of Students to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), providing their account details and a photocopy of the original payment receipt.
Students at the University of Ibadan have voiced their frustration over the delay in the release of their education loan funds, with some expressing their concerns through statements like "no whine us ooo."
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) recently disbursed a sum of N201,114,650.00 to the university for the 2023/2024 academic session. This amount is intended to cover the fees of 1,370 students who applied for the NELFUND loan.
According to the university's Bursary Department, the funds are currently being processed to enable the affected students to obtain their Smart Receipts. Students who have already paid their fees and are beneficiaries of the NELFUND loan are eligible for a refund. To apply, they must write through the Dean of Students to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), providing their account details and a photocopy of the original payment receipt.
The university has clarified that this information applies only to students whose NELFUND loan applications were approved. The delay in fund processing has caused concern among students, prompting them to seek clarification and action from the university administration.
