A disagreement over hostel sanitation at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, took a distressing turn as Chioma, a second-year student, allegedly poured hot water on the hostel president, Mark, and reportedly stabbed him. According to a Facebook source, Valentine Mbadugha, the incident occurred at Twins Fall Lodge, Ifite-Awka, on Saturday, February 17, 2024.
The altercation between Chioma and Mark, which originated from a discussion regarding hostel cleanliness, escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving Mark requiring immediate medical attention.

While the precise details of the incident remain murky, reports suggest that Chioma reacted violently when reminded of her obligations to assist in maintaining the hostel's hygiene standards.

Mark was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment following the altercation. However, as of the time of this report, the state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, has not confirmed the incident.
