Mrs. Jane Nkechi Egerton-Idehen, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Satellite Communications Limited (NIGCOMSAT), is set to become the first female guest lecturer to deliver the Herbert Macaulay Memorial Lecture (HMML) at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN). This historic event is scheduled to take place on the 3rd and 4th of May 2024, with the theme “Harnessing Practical Engineering Solutions for Sustainable Economic Development.”

According to reports by MySchoolNews, Prof. Emenike Ejiogu, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at UNN, shared this news, highlighting the importance of the HMML series, which was established in 1978 to honor Herbert Macaulay, an engineer and Nigeria's foremost nationalist. The lecture has historically been a platform for prominent Nigerians to discuss and contribute to the country's development through engineering.
