The Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha, has urged newly appointed members of two key university committees to embrace their roles with unwavering drive and commitment. The Office and Open Spaces Committee and the School Fees Drive and Examination Committee were inaugurated on Wednesday, April 23, 2024, during a virtual Google Meet session led by Prof. Omenugha from London.

Emphasizing the importance of team spirit and dedication, Prof. Omenugha expressed her appreciation for the members' willingness to serve during this crucial period. She stressed the significance of leveraging technology to improve the university's administrative processes, ensuring that geographical distance is no longer a barrier to effective governance. "The Now University and of the Future as we profess, must be that which would be ready to leverage on disruptive innovations in technology," she said, encouraging the committee members to embrace e-administration.

Prof. Omenugha outlined the university's vision for these committees, highlighting the importance of teamwork and inclusivity in achieving their objectives. She mentioned that the best-performing committee at the end of the year would receive an award, promoting healthy competition and accountability. The university's Quality Assurance Directorate will work closely with the Ethics Committee to ensure high standards are maintained throughout the committees' operations.

Prof. Bruno Ibekilo will chair the Office and Open Spaces Committee, while Dr. Gideon Nwafor will lead the School Fees Drive and Examination Monitoring Committee. Other key university officials present at the inauguration included the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Administration, Prof. M. O. Ananti; the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academics, Prof. Osita Chiaghanam; the Acting Bursar, Dr. Nath Udezo; and the Acting Librarian, Dr. Uche Enweani.
