The University of Nigeria (UNN) has issued a set of mandatory instructions for candidates provisionally recommended for admission into various academic programs for the 2025/2026 session. The guidelines, issued by the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) C.N. Nnebedum, are designed to ensure candidates complete all necessary steps to secure and validate their admission status.
Candidates recommended for provisional admission are required to take the following actions:

-
O’Level Results Upload: Candidates must urgently upload their O/Level results to the JAMB portal using a JAMB-approved CBT centre and confirm the upload in CAPS, as admission processing cannot occur without this step.
-
Course Adjustment (if applicable): Candidates recommended for courses different from their original JAMB application (Supplementary/Advert/Shopping) must access JAMB CAPS at an accredited CBT centre to effect a change of course to the recommended program. They must print and submit their CAPS admission status to the UNN Admissions Office, which is required for authentic admission processing.
-
Accept Admission on CAPS: After completing steps 1 and 2, candidates must accept their admission on JAMB CAPS by clicking “Accept Admission.” Failure to do so will prevent issuance of the JAMB Admission Letter and will be treated as non-admission.
-
Payment of Acceptance Fee: Candidates should visit the UNN website (unn.edu.ng) or portal (unnportal.edu.ng), log in using their JAMB registration number, generate a Payment Invoice (Remitta number included), and pay the acceptance fee of ₦30,000 at any commercial bank, including UNN Microfinance Bank. Confirmation of payment must include the Invoice number and Confirmation number.
-
Complete Acceptance Form: Candidates must log back into the UNN portal, input the Confirmation Number and Invoice Number, then print the Admission Slip and complete the online Acceptance Form.
-
Subsequent Registration: Candidates should proceed with other fee payments and registration as indicated on the UNN portal.
Candidates are reminded that the admission remains provisional. Should it be discovered at any point, including the final year, that a candidate does not meet minimum university and departmental entry requirements as prescribed by UNN Senate and published in the JAMB Brochure, the admission offer will be withdrawn.
