The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, efforts to promote effective and efficient online services allocates offices to directors, studio head at Management Information Systems (MIS) on Campus.

In his efforts to promote effective and efficient online services, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia), Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has allocated offices to some staff of the University who are directly associated with e-learning.

It would be recalled that since his assumption of office, Abdul Rahman has prioritised e-learning in the University with a view to catching up with the latest trends in teaching and learning and decongesting classrooms.

It would be recalled, too, that the vice-chancellor has also, recently, appointed a director, deputy director and head of studio, with the studio meant to serve as a place where lecturers would record and upload their lectures.

The vice-chancellor, when handing over office keys to the Director of Management Information Systems (MIS), Dr. Ovye Jeff Agushaka, Director of Open, Distance, and E-learning, Prof. Uji Wilfred, and Head of e-Learning Studio, Mrs. Josephine A. Markus, urged them to ensure the quick takeoff of e-learning in the University.

The offices, located at the newly constructed Multipurpose and Management Information Building, said the vice-chancellor, were meant to assist the officers to ensure the smooth running of the activities of the MIS and the newly established Centre for Open, Distance and E-learning.

Describing the two departments as crucial to the new focus and thinking of the Management of the University, the vice-chancellor called on the directors to mobilise the needed resources, quickly, and get to work.

He said that adequate office space and facilities were important to keep the staff focused and productive, adding that his administration would continue to provide a befitting work environment for staff and students.

The directors, in separate remarks, expressed their appreciation to the vice-chancellor, promising to work harder to justify the confidence reposed on them.

The Multipurpose and MIS building houses the following offices: Director of MIS, CODeL, Deputy Director CODeL, e-learning studio, examination, students and staff records.

It also houses the software development and management unit, committee room, administrative room and multipurpose hall.

Similarly, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, has also handed over to the Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurial Development, Prof. Adofu Ilemona, the key to his official vehicle, a Peugeot 407 saloon.

The handing over event took place at the  Permanent Site Campus, Lafia.
