Wikimedia Group Donates Educational Materials to AAUA

The Yoruba Wikimedians User Group and Wikimedia User Group Nigeria have jointly donated educational audiovisual materials to Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba (AAUA). This initiative aims to enhance educational resources by providing freely accessible content to enrich the learning experience for AAUA students.

In a significant initiative aimed at enhancing educational resources, the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group and Wikimedia User Group Nigeria have collaborated to donate educational audiovisual materials to Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba (AAUA).

The donation is part of an ongoing effort by both groups to support education by providing high-quality, freely accessible audiovisual content. These materials are expected to serve as valuable teaching aids, enriching the learning experience for students at AAUA.

The handover ceremony took place at AAUA and was attended by key university officials including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Felix Akinwunmi, the Registrar, Mr. Raphael Arajulu, and the Director of Linkages and International Programs, Professor Temitope Olumuyiwa. Also present were the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Uriel Okunrimeta, and former Deputy Vice-Chancellors, Professors Oluyemisi Adebowale and Francis Oyebade, a noted phonologist.

Representing the Wikimedia community were Olaniyan Olushola, President of the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria, and Mikaeel Sodiq Adesina, President of the Yoruba Wikimedians User Group. They were accompanied by Dr. Isaac Olatunde, Ayokanmi Oyeyemi, Dansu Peter, and Yemi Festus.
