Young Woman Earns PhD at 25, Joins Elite 3.1% of Black Women with Doctoral Degrees in the US

Alesha Hammond, an exceptional young woman, has earned her Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Health Administration – Healthcare Leadership from the University of Lynchburg at the age of 25. 

Hammond’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health from East Carolina University. She then proceeded to earn a Master's degree from West Coast University in Irvine, California. Celebrating her achievement, Hammond expressed gratitude for realizing her childhood dream, noting that only 3.1% of black women in the US hold doctoral degrees.

“Only 3.1% of black women in the US earn doctoral degrees and tomorrow morning I will officially be one of them as Dr. Hammond,” she wrote on Facebook.
