ABU VC presents certificates to 11 participants of IIOE B1 Micro-Certification Course

A total of 11 academic staff of Ahmadu Bello University were today presented with certificates of attendance at the concluded three-week “Domestication of B1 Micro-Certification Course”.

The Micro-Certification Course (Design and Produce Micro-Certification) was organised by the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE), Nigeria National Centre, Ahmadu Bello University

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, who attended the award ceremony, presented the certificates to the successful participants of the B1 Micro-Certification Course at the Smart Classroom, Department of Computer Engineering, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Speaking at the event, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ahmed Ibrahim Doko, congratulated the participants and urged other members of the University community to join such training in order to become fully digital in teaching and research.

Prof. Doko also commended the effort and dedication of the resource persons for imparting the knowledge and encouraging staff of the University toward digital transformation.

He told the participants of the Vice-Chancellor’s commitment towards digitalising the University for effective teaching and learning.

Expressing their appreciation, the participants applauded the tutors for their excellence in training them.

Dr. Shu’aibu Mohammed of the Department of Political Science and International Studies said that the workshop was an eye opener to all the participants as they learnt how to showcase their skills online.

He explained that the knowledge gained from the workshop helped them create a YouTube page for the Department to upload their course contents for their students.

Also speaking, Dr. Muhammed Lawal, IIOE Nigeria National Centre, encouraged lecturers to upload their courses on the University website.
