Ahmadu Bello University Announces New Appointments and Re-appointments

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Prof. Kabiru Bala, has announced a series of appointments and re-appointments aimed at enhancing the institution's academic leadership. The changes come into effect on various dates in October 2023.

Appointments:

Prof. Haladu Isa Bayero: Chairman, Staff School Management Board, effective from September 28, 2023.

Prof. Adebiyi G. Adesiyun: Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, effective from October 10, 2023.

Dr. Umar Ayuba Ahmad: Head, Department of Community Medicine, effective from October 10, 2023.

Dr. Mahmud A. Fatima: Head, Department of Ophthalmology, effective from October 10, 2023.

Dr. Lawal Suleiman: Head, Department of Radiology, effective from October 10, 2023.

Dr. Saidu Y. Yakubu: Head, Department of Anaesthesia, effective from October 10, 2023.

Prof. Kenneth E. Amaefule: Head, Department of Trauma and Orthopedic Surgery, effective from October 10, 2023.

Prof. Abdulrasheed Ibrahim: Head, Department of Surgery, effective from October 6, 2023.

Re-appointments:

Prof. Mohammed Sani Shehu: Provost, ABU College of Medical Sciences, effective from October 6, 2023.

Prof. Sani Adamu: Chief Veterinary Medical Director, Veterinary Teaching Hospital, effective from October 10, 2023.

Prof. Clement Sunday Bakinde: Head, Department of Archaeology and Heritage Studies, effective from October 10, 2023.

Prof. Sani A. Abubakar: Head, Department of Medicine, effective from October 6, 2023.

Prof. Ismail Lawal Dahiru: Deputy Provost, ABU College of Medical Sciences, effective from October 6, 2023.

Prof. Audu Ishaq Aveka: Head, Department of Psychiatry, effective from October 6, 2023.

Prof. Musa Abdullahi: Head, Department of Paediatrics, effective from October 6, 2023.
