Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has reiterated his administration's commitment to advancing the education sector in the state. He proudly announced that Anambra has achieved the lowest rates of out-of-school children across the nation, crediting this accomplishment to significant investments made in education.

Speaking at the 2024 Children’s Day celebration held at the Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Monday, May 27, Soludo expressed his delight at witnessing the event, which he described as the largest he had seen since assuming office.

"We're here to celebrate our future, our children, and those who couldn't join us today," Soludo remarked. "We're deliberately investing in our children, who are our bridge to the future. We're equipping them with skills necessary for both local development and global competitiveness."

Highlighting the strides made in the education sector during his tenure, Soludo stated, "In two years, we've employed over 8000 teachers because they are our greatest asset. Currently, Anambra has the lowest number of out-of-school children in the country, and we are committed to driving that number to zero."

Emphasizing the critical role of teachers, Soludo commended their dedication and emphasized that his government would maintain high standards in teacher recruitment to ensure Anambra children receive the best education possible.

Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, echoed Soludo's sentiments, emphasizing the importance of parental involvement in nurturing children's development. She stressed that creating a conducive environment at home is vital for children to thrive despite challenges.
