Bauchi Governor Allocates N42 Million for Nigeria-Malaysia School Debate Championship

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, has approved a budget of over N42 million to support the Nigerian contingent participating in the Nigeria-Malaysia Bilateral School Debate Championship scheduled for July 15-21, 2024, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This significant allocation underscores the governor's commitment to fostering educational excellence and empowering youth in Bauchi State.
The Chairman of the National Advisory Board of President’s School Debate Nigeria, Usman Muhammad, announced that Bauchi State emerged victorious over Ogun State in a rigorous final held in Abuja, securing the privilege to represent Nigeria at the international competition.

Governor Bala Mohammed urged the Nigerian team to strive for excellence and bring honor to the country. He also called on the Federal Government to support students who qualify for national-level debate championships, emphasizing their role as ambassadors on the global stage.
The Bauchi State team, comprising five debaters, along with a coach, judge, observer, and matron, will be led by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB. Their participation not only showcases Bauchi's academic prowess but also serves as inspiration to Nigerian youth.
The Ministry of Education expressed gratitude to Governor Bala Mohammed for his unwavering support and investment in the youth of Bauchi State, describing his efforts as a beacon of hope and progress for the entire nation.
Preparations for the championship are underway, with intensive training and preparations ongoing to ensure the Bauchi State team competes effectively at the international level.
