BUK VC, Management Eulogize Former Kano CP ...Says He's a Role Model

The Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano (BUK), Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, has described the former Kano State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Muhammad Usaini Gumel, as a role model and a dedicated officer whose commitment to duty has made Kano one of the most peaceful and safest places in the country.

The VC made this remark during a farewell visit by the Police boss to his office on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. He praised Mr. Gumel's work attitude and actions, which he said stand him out as a unique and credible officer in the Nigerian Police.

The University's DVC Academics, Professor Muhammad Sani Gumel, also commended Mr. Gumel's commitment to duty, citing his availability and responsiveness while heading an intelligence unit. He noted that during Mr. Gumel's short stay as Commissioner of Police, the state and university environment recorded an excellent atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
The University's Bursar, Malam Rabiu Dauda, congratulated Mr. Gumel on his promotion to Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) and praised his indelible mark in Kano. The Head of Public Affairs Directorate, Malam Lamara Garba, also commended Mr. Gumel's honesty and dealings with the people.
The Deputy Registrar, Vice Chancellor's Office, Comrade ... (name not mentioned) also praised Mr. Gumel's support and security advice, which ensured peace within the university environment.

The University Management expressed gratitude for Mr. Gumel's good working relationship and hoped for continued collaboration. They also prayed for his continued success and elevation to greater heights.
