According to sources, the suspects used sophisticated software to remotely access JAMB servers through covertly placed routers near specific CBT centers. This manipulation led to discrepancies between the questions answered by candidates and those displayed on the screens, contributing to widespread failures in the exams. The arrests were carried out through synchronized operations in several states.

Candidates who allegedly took advantage of this scheme paid between ₦700,000 and ₦2 million for high scores. Investigations revealed that some members of the syndicate own private educational institutions and tutorial facilities, using illicit gains to engage in exam misconduct.

The identities of the suspects will be disclosed during their court appearance. The investigation is ongoing, with no evidence currently implicating JAMB officials overseeing service providers at the affected CBT centers.
