CHUKWUEMEKA ODUMEGWU OJUKWU UNIVERSITY (COOU)

The University of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) Management urgently notifies Students, Parents, and the General Public that the Deborah Hostel Complex, situated behind the Igbariam Campus of the University, is at risk of imminent collapse. Consequently, the following directives are issued:

1. All students currently residing in the complex must evacuate promptly. They are advised to relocate to neighboring hostels with friends or seek temporary accommodation with friends within the University hostels.

2. It is important to clarify that the Deborah Hostel Complex is not University-owned, nor was it constructed on University land. The University does not manage this facility; it is entirely owned and operated by an individual unknown to the University Management.

3. The public is urged to disregard any misinformation suggesting that the building is part of the University premises; such claims are false.

4. The University Management has initiated immediate steps to inform the State Government and relevant agencies. This is to ensure a professional demolition of the structure, minimizing the risk of casualties.
