The Federal Government has declared Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, as public holidays, in order to observe this year's Eid-ul-Adha celebrations. The announcement was made through a statement issued by Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, on behalf of the Federal Government.

Dr. Ndayako conveyed the proclamation on behalf of the Federal Government, which was endorsed by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo. The declaration of the public holidays is in recognition of the significance of Eid-ul-Adha to the Muslim Ummah both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora.
