Federal Schools should be Modelled After Catholic Schools : Netizens Express
Roman Catholic Priest, Fr. Jude Okey, took to X to display pictures of students from a Catholic school who had performed exceptionally well in the JAMB UTME. In response to this, netizens wrote that schools managed by the church often perform better than those managed by the government.
In the midst of the JAMB saga, netizens took to social media to suggest that schools in Nigeria should be modeled after Catholic schools. This follows recent events where a Roman Catholic Priest, Fr. Jude Okey, took to X to display pictures of students from a Catholic school who had performed exceptionally well in the JAMB UTME.
Eucharistic Heart of Jesus Model College, Ilorin, released the names of 30 students who scored 300 and above in the JAMB UTME. Fr. Jude tweeted on his social media page, "@FriarjudeO, “In the midst of the JAMB saga, we have this from one of the Catholic schools, there is a lot more of that,” attaching pictures of the students.

In response to this, netizens wrote that schools managed by the church often perform better than those managed by the government. They added that these schools also provide quality education and offer scholarships. “What model do they use that the government can’t employ too?” another social media user asked.
Netizens expressed that private schools are better funded compared to government schools. They added that these funds are invested in facilities that help the children get the best experience. “The government, on the other hand, couldn’t care less, and would rather invest taxpayers’ money on luxury holidays abroad,” @ireoluw_a expressed on her X page.

Netizens there on urged the leaders to step up and incorporate the style of mission schools into federal schools.
